Why not stay home ? School nurses overwhelmed

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/it-s-impossible-lack-covid-safeguards-overwhelm-school-nurses-n1277299

People, there are not enough nurses and other front line professionals. We knew this 15 months ago.

Although some parents live in fairly well vaccinated areas, or have well-behaved mask using children or like me — isolated areas, i cannot understand any in-school instruction for the months ahead.

DU members should be setting the best example.

for many, many years. In my district there was a nurse, psych, librarian, resource specialist, spec ed support staff, custodians, etc one day a week. And this was in one of the top 10 largest districts in the country. Schools are and have been getting by on the essentials for 20 years. Most people aren't aware of this. Unless they are getting tons of financial support right now they are doomed if they all reopen.

San Diego has decided to use a new system in 2 weeks when they reopen. Parents can opt for full in class learning OR home, distance learning instead of most teachers doing both and not having a very positive outcome.
