Lincoln University celebrates 156 years as an educational institute

JEFFERSON CITY(MO) — Thursday is Lincoln University’s Founder’s Day and this year is particularly significant because they are celebrating 156 years as an educational institute, as well as 100 years as a university.

University President Dr. John Moseley said the university has overcome its challenges since being founded in 1866 with a focus on providing an education to Black Americans.

“This university was founded at a time in which it was critically needed to provide an education for, at that time, Black Americans. We remain critically needed to provide an education to all students at this point, and we’re excited about what we believe to be a bright future here at Lincoln University,” Moseley said.
