Then she took post graduate coursework to meet requirements for her California teaching credential. She’s been teaching high school English for 10+ years.

In California at least, I think being an education major is more necessary to get an elementary credential, rather than a single subject credential.

I got a B.S.Ed in secondary education with teaching fields of biology and chemistry. Then I got an MS in Secondary Science Education.

You'd be happy to know that since I retired, I substitute.
I only do math & SCIENCE classes! With a PhD in physical organic chemistry, my favorite to do is, obviously, chem.
But, I'll cover all the sciences.

Had to take them twice, but I had to take so much chemistry just for my biology major that it just made sense to minor in chemistry. I only taught for 9 years. I've been in the business world since the 90s. I miss the kids, but it's become so "teach for the test" that I just couldn't do it.
