Duke University "Talent Identification Program"

http://www.tip.duke.edu/

Parents of a 12 year old boy, my friends, were notified he had scored 100% on a national test that qualified him for admission to Duke's TIP.

Does anyone have experience with Duke's TIP and what it means for the boy?

if you choose. neither boys did that. but it is excellent on the records. and it was a heads up for the kids to go into AP program. also.... it does the kids a world of good in confidence.

it cost i think about $65 a year, but well worth it.

get a magazine subscription i believe, if i remember correctly.

i recommend it.

He went to a college campus over the summer for 6 weeks and studied math. He loved it and learned a lot. He did some additional work on his own and skipped 9th grade math.

They had a number of different areas to choose from. Standard things like math but some others like politics and oceanography. There were different campuses for different areas as well as home/online options.
