(14,498 posts)Bush and Obama have been able to preside over this ed "reform" wave of the past 14 yrs precisely because the economic conditions they've produced have created an unlimited labor supply.
Pretentious "reform" rhetoric aside, in its essence it's about cheap labor.

(14,498 posts)Most will resign or retire in the face of the hostile work environments that have been created nationally by professional union busters with the collaboration of the major teachers unions and ( OF COURSE!) the tacit approval of Obama and Duncan.

(15,774 posts)this is truly the worst year (worse than my first year as a school Nurse). They are screaming and hollering how desperate they are for qualified school Nurses, but they treat the ones they have like shit. I am in good health and could do Nursing for 5 or 10 more years but I am going where I can get decent compensation and respect for a change. There are few replacement in the pipeline for this.

(25 posts)Any factor we have a tendency to gonna to try and do for the education, that is incredibly vital in our day to day life.
I say treat teachers like they do in Finland, where teachers are upper class professionals with a lots of education, like doctors and lawyers. Having a good teacher is just as important as having a good doctor or lawyer.
