Question About Box Tops For Education

for teachers and others employed at schools.

I have two children and have collected them for years as I have a 2nd and 7th grader. I also have siblings that cut them out and mail them to me every month.

I usually send them in about once or twice a month in an envelope with the amount of how many I collected (I'm sure they recount them but try to save them time).

How much does your school benefit from these, and I try to distribute them evenly between my 2 kids but usually give more to the one in elementary school. Which school level needs them more?

Sorry if these seem like dumb questions, and appreciate your feedback. Thanks!

if lots of families take part. The program provides cash directly to the school and my kids school has in the past purchased tablets for classrooms, smartboards and quite a few other useful tools that they wouldn't get otherwise.

This year part of the money is going toward library upgrades and hopefully computer upgrades.

When deciding which school could use them more I'd talk to the PTA, they should have an idea of what they'd like to buy and they might be able to give you an idea which school could use the most help.

I think there's an upper limit to how much a school can earn, something like $15,000 or $20,000 per year. We've got a pretty active parent base and we've never reached the limit though we'd sure like too sometime.

Our elementary school has just about reached half of their yearly goal which is $5000.

I never thought about contacting the PTA; that's a good idea.

I'm glad to hear they can be very beneficial...thanks again and have a great weekend!
