(9,094 posts)sabotaged? We've seen what russia has done to nuclear power plants in Ukraine during their war of aggression. And we've seen what saboteurs have done to power stations in the USA. We need to start protecting our energy infrastructure somehow.
I also think it would be a great idea for every home/apartment building/office building to start having its own power source wherever possible. Government subsidies would be great in that regard.
If shopping centers would start having solar panels on parking area covered parking, it would keep everyones cars from being roasted, AND provide power to the shopping centers.
On edit: BTW, this power plant depicted in the video is genius!

(409 posts)How do you make liquid sodium?
What happens if any of the liquid sodium touches water?

(49,068 posts)On the first question I would say start the reactor, slowly maybe.
On the second question, as long as the water in your question is at atmospheric pressure it will just evaporate before getting very close to the very hot Liquid Metal.

Large scale wind and solar developments on previously undeveloped land and seascapes are environmentally destructive obscenities that will only prolong our dependence on fossil fuels, especially natural gas.
