The owner of the shuttered Three Mile Island nuclear power station is all-in on an exploration of the possibility of reopening the nuclear reactor that closed five years ago.

Constellation Energy confirmed in a statement to PennLive Thursday that it has already done the engineering work to determine that “it would be technically feasible to restart the unit.”

In addition, during the protracted negotiations on the 2024-25 state budget this summer, sources said the Shapiro Administration did float a proposal to convert some unused tax credits passed in 2022 to a plan that would be tailor-made for the project.
