clean water

Just read an article by Philip Bump about underground water and fracking. "In 2005, Congress permanently exempted fracking from regulation under the federal Safe Drinking Water Act -- a move championed by then vice President Dick Cheney..." He goes on to relay information from ProPublica -- "more than 30 trillion gallons of waste fracking fluid have been injected underground..." Also in the article it says that fracking companies are allowed to keep the ingredients of their fracking fluid secret.

30 trillion gallons of contaminated waste fracking fluid being injected into the ground sounds extremely unclean as well. And we don't even get to know what's in the secret sauce. Nice.

I do hope sanity takes over once again in this nation. Sometimes I see glimmer of hope and then stories like this remind me that things are still very messed up......
