A person is dead after coming into contact with a train in Anne Arundel County Friday morning, according to Amtrak. ... At about 9:42 a.m. a person trespassing on the tracks “came into contact” with a train in Odenton, said Amtrak spokesperson Kimberly Woods. The person’s identity was not released as of Friday afternoon.

Woods said the 462 passengers and crew on the train were not hurt. The company is now working with local law enforcement including the Anne Arundel County Police Department to investigate what happened.

All trains running between Washington and Baltimore were delayed because of the incident. About 35 minutes after the incident, normal service had resumed with some potential residual delays due to congestion on the tracks, Amtrak said in a tweet.

A MARC Penn Line train was held at BWI and delayed for about 35-45 minutes while two others were canceled, according to MTA service alerts.
