I have nightmares about eating meat.
Am I the only one? Sometimes I dream that I am eating meat, but in the dreams I am horrified.
It's infrequent, but I do have terrible dreams about eating meat. As a child, even before I was veg*n, I had nightmares about eating animals and even human friends. That might have something to do with why I don't eat meat; I don't know.
Disclaimer: I live with night terrors. Nightmares of every variety are routine, and I do wake (myself and others) screaming. Maybe it is just part of who I am.
Do others have these awful dreams?

(18 posts)Not about eating meat, but yes, awful dreams. It's like a replay of what goes on in meat processing. Maybe your suffering is also an awareness of other suffering.

(16,866 posts)Back then we didn't understand that animals were living, breathing creatures that knew pain and fear. Today we know and understand this, but many just don't care.

(53,661 posts)Still makes my heart freak thinking about it. That is pretty terrifying stuff. But then I was having dreams about my family burning up in an airplane crash in those years. Too much television, maybe.
There's so much about food grosses me out, most days I don't want to eat. I'm simply not in the mood. Eating seems unavoidable, so pay close attention to what you put into your body.

(16,327 posts)20+ years as a vegetarian and I have them occasionally. When I do it really freaks me out and, even as I am dreaming, I am wondering what the hell I am doing. The dreams also tend to wake me up because I find them so disturbing. I am not sure what it means.
