And someone was offended?

I haven't been to DU for awhile and am really surprised at how insulted so many people are here. I've been asked to serve on juries since being back on for a day. People have been posting results of juries in threads. Most of what I'm seeing is not "offensive, over the top, or disruptive".

it was the condition of the top camel.

I thought the post pic was so hilarious d/l'd it to send it out! Then & only then, when closely examining the pic, did I find that the top camel looked as if it had wounds and there was what appeared to be a rope on its front leg.

I sent a note to the poster who at first was very dismissive of my concern that the camels had been staged & perhaps harmed, but he later apologized. THAT'S when I deleted my post HERE. I did not want to embarrass the poster 'cause he's a nice guy! Had I been an asshole I would have posted my concern to his thread.

I'm not a fucking prude & was NOT offended by the very funny post!

I don't know you or if it was even you who did the alert. Nor did I see any harm to the camels. I saw it briefly on FB and smiled and moved on.

And this isn't specifically about you and this post. It just seems that there are tons of people insulted on this board. Maybe I'm thicker skinned or maybe it's because I'm a mother of boys or maybe it's because I usually am on a board with less moderation. I made the comment because, frankly, I feel like I have to walk on eggshells with anything I want to say for fear of being alerted on - like I was yesterday

Wasn't me, honestly! I deal directly with posters. And if they offend me, I tell them &/or put them on full ignore.

But I know what you mean; folks need to get a sense of humor!

I assumed it was because it got deleted.

One of my posts was alerted but jury didn't vote to hide it. But the person who alerted contacted me and asked if I'd make a change to my comment. I edited my comment to make the change because I'm not here to cause trouble, just want some like minds to talk to. When I saw this thread was deleted, I assumed it was kind of the same thing that happened with me - jury didn't vote to hide but maybe poster was contacted and asked to take it down.

No worries. Like I said, I wasn't trying to single you or this thread out, just came to mind while reading it because of what I've been seeing with all the juries and even being asked to serve on juries.
