New products from Gardein: Crab cakes and Sweet & Sour Porkless Bites
God. Damn. Gardein scores yet again!
We found both of these at a local store and had to give them a go. Paul cooked up the crab cakes (on the stove in a little oil) and they were crispy and tender (NOTE: do NOT use the settings they suggest. Our first set got a little too well done when we cooked them at medium heat). Put a little tartar sauce down and they were yummy!
Then we tried the Sweet and Sour Porkless Bites. Hell's Bells, how did we live without these? The sauce is very good, but we found it to be a tad overpowering for the amount of bites we got, so we cut it in half, Still delicious. We also tried a couple of pieces prior to putting the sauce on them (from the second batch). If Gardein were to make these into patties and sell them, Paul and I would buy out the store. They are so freaking amazing.
So now you've heard our side of the story.

(22,340 posts)My wife is skeptical about the crab cakes, so it's good to see you liked them. Hopefully they get the pork bites (which were on a really good sale) back in stock soon.
