I feel like I'm in between a deal with God and the Devil right now... :(

I'm a vegan. Animal rights are very important to me. But I'm also unemployed. I'm only able to search for jobs for one more month before I can no longer pay the rent, and I'm out on my ass.

But recently, I've done 2 job interviews. Out of my entire month of job hunting, only 2 have requested an interview with me.

One is a 2 yr old start up that aims to create a green energy solution to making masonry. They grow bricks from sand and a proprietary ingredient!

And the other...

Is the largest animal pharmaceutical company in the world.

At first, I thought "Cool, I'd be helping animals!"

But then during the interview, the hiring manager said his division manufacturers devices for the poultry industry.

They make the machines that inject chickens to create eggs.

I need a job. But I'm crushed with this dilemma. The pay is apparently good, the benefits are great... But... My work would be directly aiding one of the industries that I morally oppose.

This sucks. Can I get some support?

not a job offer yet. IMO do the interview ; think of it as practice. Also it may help further clarify how you'd feel about working there. If you do end up working there it isn't necessarily forever. Don't be too hard on yourself. I knew an older woman who considered herself to be an environmentalist but she took a job at a "wise use" organization because that was all she could get. Life is messy.

Survival is right down there at the base. We all do things simply to survive at times that are morally repugnant. If that's the job you can get now, get it, but keep looking for something else, and get out again as soon as you can.

Good for you. Hopefully, you'll know what to do with that.

Cheers, and I'll say no more.

So I think you can find a work that is to the benefit of animals, people. Could you please share your opinion?
