PARIS (Reuters) - French lawmakers on Tuesday backed a security accord with Ukraine, after a debate that showed deep divisions over President Emmanuel Macron's policy towards Kyiv.

The 10-year security pact with Ukraine includes commitments by Paris to deliver more arms, train soldiers and send up to 3 billion euros ($3.2 billion) in military aid to Ukraine in 2024.

Macron has also adopted a tougher stance towards Russia, urging Ukraine's allies to urgently do more. He also did not rule out the presence of Western troops in Ukraine which has created a backlash among some.

Ukrainian officials had told Reuters they were worried that a vote not overwhelmingly in favour of Kyiv would be negative symbolically and could hurt President Emmanuel Macron's efforts to ramp up his country's support in the coming months.

Seems to be a portion of the discussion. Go get 'em, I say. Good on him. He's been quoted as saying that there are "no red lines" in policy regarding the Ukraine war. He's apparently also had the phrase loosely quoted here...

"I'm the president and I have the final word."

Personally, I love Macron and he's my second favorite president but I have French heritage so I'm very biased.
