The first floor of nearly everything looked flooded, including the swamky shopping mall and fancy hotels. The airport had to shut down, the runways turned into rivers. The airport is chockablock packed with stranded tourists.

(113,130 posts)in any dpressions, anyplace the topography isn't flat or raised. There is also going to be massive cleanup of all the glittering infrastructure, all entrances, lobbies, and ground floor kitchens were flooded. If they don't manage to get the water out, mildew will take over in that climate.
They also got wind damage, this was on hell of a storm.
Evenutally all the water will evaporate. I have to wonder if their desert will have a mega bloom the way the Atacama and other deserts do when they get a really rare heavy rainstorm.

(11,780 posts)But then a large population of peon workers (mostly foreign) that are largely out of sight, out of mind. Lots of stuff that is officially forbidden, but commonly done. If you are in the right economic bracket.
