Ukraine "seizes more Russian territory" in biggest incursion since WW2 - BBC News

Ukraine says its troops have advanced further into Russia and captured more than 100 troops. It’s the biggest invasion of Russia by foreign forces since the Second World War.

The incursion into Russia's Kursk region began a week ago and took Moscow by surprise. President Putin has declared that the attack will be repelled.

Reeta Chakrabarti presents BBC News at Ten reporting by James Waterhouse, Steve Rosenberg and BBC Verify’s Olga Robinson.

It's hard to imagine Ukraine breaking through those entrenchments though. They are going to attract a lot of aggression there.

So that 1200-mile border is a problem for Russia to defend as well as Ukraine.

Ukraine may or may not be able to use the F-16's as air support there. There are restrictions inside Russia, and they'll have to thread the needle. But they will be damn hard to repel with air superiority.
