I thought only the elites could even hope to buy stuff like that.

Now the staff has to dust it once a day so nobody will notice no one has bought anything for over 2 years because of the increases in taxes, grocery prices, and interest rates----but not wages.

I saw a lot of empty shelves in one store without corresponding merch on the floor.

I posyted because this is a disaster for Petropavlovsk-Kanchatsk and another headache for Putin which he's going to try to pretend doesn't exist with the predictable result.

I'm wondering how close it is to Ukraine and points west.

Ukraine is on Russia's western border, Kamchatka peninsula on the eastern (Pacific) shore, much closer to Japan than any part of Europe.
