The alarming event unfolded at the ODK Engine-Building Production Association in Ufa, the capital of Russia's Bashkorostan Republic.

This facility is a key component of Russia's defense sector, engaging in the development, repair, and production of aircraft engines, as well as the manufacturing of gas pumping units and the design and maintenance of helicopters.

A total of 21 individuals were afflicted by the illness, which health authorities suspect was triggered by a norovirus.
