[quote[The student government at Ohio State University (OSU) on Wednesday rejected a Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) resolution against Israel, The Algemeiner has learned.
The vote on the resolution was different from other recent ones of its nature, however, as it involved intervention from members of Congress and an alleged death threat from a pro-BDS OSU student.
Cailin Pitt, a senior computer science and engineering major, ignited controversy Tuesday, the day before the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) was set to vote, with the following tweet: Yo, if USG messes this up tomorrow Im coming for everyones life tomorrow. Every one. Every single, blessed life. Every one.

The USG final vote was nine in favor of the BDS resolution, 21 against and 15 abstentions.[/quote]

(58,724 posts)On Tuesday March 22nd, it was announced that the Undergraduate Student Government on campus had received a letter from three Ohio politicians, asking USG not to divest. Divestment has been a popular topic on campus for quite some time, as USG has been deciding whether or not to support divestment for the past several weeks.
Many people took to Twitter to voice their concern that USG would not give OSU Divest a fair process now that there was outside pressure to avoid divestment, including me. One of my tweets on the 22nd said that I would "come for lives" if USG did not give OSU Divest a fair process.
This tweet was poorly worded. It also gave the impression to some members of USG that I was threatening lives, which was not my intention at all.
"Coming for lives" is a popular slang term that means to address and correct something that was done or said. In my usage of this slang term, I attempted to say that I would follow up with USG senators and leaders if OSU Divest was not given a fair hearing because of outside pressure, and I would try to figure out what went wrong. Once again, this tweet was poorly worded, and was also poorly timed because this was said on the same day of the terrorist attacks in Belgium.
I am sorry. I am sorry for the confusion that I have caused. Please know that I would never threaten to harm anyone, especially for simply disagreeing with me.

(2,707 posts)and this guy and his twitter makes liberals look bad. REALLY fucking bad. It's a good thing I know that the [link:gallup.com/poll/189626/americans-views-toward-israel-remain-firmly-positive.aspx|silent majority] of Democrats, like the rest of Americans, stand against his idiocy. I don't want this Pitt kid voting for anyone this November. His ilk needs to be excluded from our electoral process.
But I would like to see Congressional Dems be louder. The letter was signed by 3 House Members, 2 Reps and 1 Dem (Joyce Beatty). I'm giving them all donations for their courage, tho Beatty is getting the biggest one because it is time the Dem pro-Israel majority purge the Israel haters like Cailin Pitt once and for all. Should've been 2 R and 2 D signing that letter.
