IDF official: Gaza underground wall to be done in months

Senior figure in Southern Command says concrete and water barrier will make tunneling ‘a deathtrap’ for terror groups

...The Southern Command official said that the structure will include a wall deep below the ground as well as flooding parts of the roughly 60-kilometer (40-mile) border.

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity under military briefing regulations, said the goal is to turn Hamas’s underground network into a “death trap.”

Obviously, this death trap is a violation of humanitarian law. If any peace loving teddybear terrorists are digging tunnels and they die, Israel should be dragged to the Hague for war crimes. What about the human rights of Hamas? Oh the humanity!

If Hamas already has tunnels leading into Israel, they're not going to want to see them go to waste.

Hopefully I'm wrong.

but they might do it, with the expectation that the UN would intervene to save the tunnels they (both the UN and Hamas) have been investing in so heavily. on the other hand, most sovereign nations should not be expected to allow terror tunnels across its borders.

perhaps the best solution would be for Hamas to tunnel to the flooded part of the tunnel and pump out water.

Lemons. Lemonade.

That would be a bold outside of the box type move.
