Israel has public universal health care

They don't have to spend $3.8 billion per year of their own money for the next decade thanks to us tax payers here in the USA.

Meanwhile, we're getting screwed on health care and getting worse soon.

Participation in the government health care program is compulsory.

It has nothing to do with military aid or spending.

So their single payer system costs their government nothing?
Money they don't have to spend because we give it to them does not affect their governmental programs?

Finally, I’ll note that this MOU is not just good for Israel, it’s good for the United States. Our security is linked. When allies and partners like Israel are more secure, the United States is more secure. Moreover, our Israeli friends will be able to buy more of the advanced capabilities produced by the United States, which will support American jobs. Like so many aspects of the U.S.-Israeli relationship, this MOU is a win-win.

Why are we essentially giving them military equipment funded by you and me?

Why are we subsidizing their purchases?
They can't afford it?

The total of all of the foreign aid that we give to every country we give aid to (Israel included) is minuscule relative to the total federal budget.

Normally, threads in the I/P group are supposed to be based on a link to a recent news story from a reputable news source. If you can find such a link and add it to your OP(while using the exact headline used in the original article), you can prevent that from happening.
