Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi warned the only way to reduce escalation in the region is to stop the war in Gaza, blaming recent spiraling regional relations on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
"We had warned that Netanyahu would try to create a confrontation with Iran to drag the United States and the West into a regional war, so the focus would shift towards Iran and the world would forget Gaza," he said, speaking to Al-Mamlaka news.
The foreign minister went on to add that the challenge following Iran's retaliation yesterday is how to end the aggression so that the world can refocus on Gaza. Safadi noted that the ministry summoned the Iranian ambassador to speak on the regime's criticism of Jordan's positions.
"We do not want an escalation with Iran and we want good relations with it based on the principle of non-interference in internal affairs and respect for each others," Safadi said. "Jordan is capable of protecting its interests. Irans problem is with Israel, not with Jordan."
Jordan, which hosts more than 2 million Palestinian refugees, has done more for Palestine than anyone else including Iran, Safadi said.

(24,147 posts)So Iran has been behind the scenes in the Israel-Hamas war from the beginning. Iran sponsors Hezbollah attacks against Israel as well as Houthi missile attacks on Israel and Houthi attacks on international shipping in the Red Sea.
So the attention to Iran now is not a diversion. Iran is the main player behind Middle East terror organizations.

Very sad but true.

Well, if thats the case, Netanyahu fell for it hook, line and sinker. To lose your get out of jail free card and become a world pariah (per Schumer, Sanders and Reich) in such a short amount of time has got to be a record.

I cannot agree more with Leader Schumer. Best for Israel to take his advice.

Of course, the United States cannot dictate the outcome of an election, nor should we try, he said. That is for the Israeli public to decide a public that I believe understands better than anybody that Israel cannot hope to succeed as a pariah opposed by the rest of the world.
As you know, these words received a chilly reception in Jerusalem when uttered on 3/15. 32 days ago. 32 days in which the majority of Gazans have had precious little to eat. 32 days have passed, yet so many on this board continue to nit pick and argue every single word. But you have your coffee and donuts.

Supermodel Gigi Hadid (born in Los Angeles) holds inherited "Palestinian refugee" status through her father, multi-millionaire real estate developer Mohamed Hadid. Mohamad Hadid holds dual citizenship in the United States and Jordan and lives in Israel.
Supermodel Gigi Hadi's child is not a "Palestinian refugee".
That status is only heritable through the male line.
