Peter Dale Scott and David Talbot on the U.S. Deep State

SAN FRANCISCO Feb. 11 2015 -- Peter Dale Scott and David Talbot discuss the U.S. "Deep State," the covert network of private companies allied with intelligence agencies and other elements of the (public) U.S, Government, and especially its huge increase since 9/11. "Continuity of Government" (the "Doomsday Plan&quot , which had been planned for decades by such people as Oliver North, Donald Rumsfeld, and Dick Cheney, took effect on 9/11, and the official state of emergency enabling it endures year after year by quiet order of the President. The three main points are warrentless surveillance, warrantless detentions, and the militarization of the police and Homeland Security.

They examine "deep events" (events covertly generated by the deep state) from the Kennedy assassination to the oil and hostage crises that cost President Carter his second term to 9/11. Topics include Lee Harvey Oswald's intelligence connections, protection of alleged 9/11 hijackers Nawaf al-Hazmi and Khalid al-Mihdhar, repeated protection of Ali Mohamed, a U.S. Special Forces sargeant and personal logistics specialist for Osama bin Laden, and the deep stste's (obscure) role in 9/11.
