Anxiety. Depression. Stress. These are some of the emotions LGBTQ Americans experienced during the Trump administration, according to two recent studies. The reports, conducted independently, both landed on the same conclusion: There was a significant decline in the mental well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people while Donald Trump was president.
Everybodys worst fears came into reality, Adrienne Grzenda, an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry and biobehavioral sciences at UCLA and lead author of one of the studies, told NBC News. We were noticing this undercurrent of despair and hopelessness among our clients, many of whom are LGBTQ.
Even before Trump's election, LGBTQ advocates sounded the alarm about his track record and that of his running mate, Mike Pence, who publicly opposed same-sex marriage and other LGBTQ rights. Once sworn in, the Trump administration took numerous steps to roll back LGBTQ rights and protections, including banning transgender people from the military, withdrawing Title IX protections for transgender students and reversing plans to count LGBTQ people on the census.
While Trump is no longer in the White House, the ongoing introduction of anti-LGBTQ legislation in the states continues to expose LGBTQ people, especially children, to the risk of significant mental health consequences, according to some advocates and researchers.

This is my Mayor - and dear friend Betsy Driver. I put myself in her shoes and our First Lady's shoes - this kind loving couple who my husband and I have broken bread with - and this is 'how' it gets covered.
It was her response to Serena Joy being placed on SCOTUS as a replacement for RBG.
It was a reasonable response.

A New Jersey mayor told Trump supporters to go f--- themselves and then dared her constituents to vote her out
The mayor of a small New Jersey town had some harsh words for those who supported and continue to support a president she believes is a threat to her LGBTQ family.
"If you voted for the orange monster with COVID, go f--- yourself," Flemington Mayor Betsy Driver wrote in a Facebook post. "If you plan on voting for him again, unfriend me and go f--- yourself again."
A screenshot of a portion of the post to her private page was shared by the county Republican committee, and drew the ire of some community members.
Gabe Plumer, chair of the group, called on Driver to resign.
And I agreed with her on Facebook Post (on her private page where a sneak copied and pasted it to the GOP in our County) - and I STILL agree with her.
She didn't resign, she didn't apologize, the 're-callers' fizzled out and mark me - she will get re-elected next year! To my LGBT DUer's -
Just as an ally -
Don't apologize for anything.
