Nazis, Patriot Front Converge at a Drag Bingo at Texas Church
BY CHRISTOPHER WIGGINS
SEPTEMBER 26 2022 10:59 AM EDT
A convergence of right-wing hate mongers menaced a Saturday's drag queen bingo event at a Texas church.
Protesters and counter-protesters lined opposing sides of a divided highway in the Texas town of Katy, west of Houston. The location is home to the LGBTQ-affirming congregation of the First Christian Church, which hosted two drag queen bingo events.
The daytime event was open to all ages, followed by an adults-only event Saturday evening.
Several hundred right-wing radicals to include members of the Proud Boys, Patriot Front, and Nazis, showed up in opposition to the religious institution's activities, Houston's Fox affiliate KRIV reports.
Chief among the participants on Saturday was Kelly Neidert, ...

If any of those Nazis had a son who wanted to dress like a girl, paint his nails, or play with dolls, or who even liked the color pink, I would fear for that child.
And by the law of averages, there are bound to be some children like that born to these haters. Which is absolutely heart-breaking to think about.

(18,675 posts)Why in the everlasting hell are these people so obsessed with the idea that somebody wants to "erase" straight people...or any particular kind of people? (I'm having flashbacks right now to that "Jews will not erase us" crap in Charlottesville.) Why, I wonder, are they so caught up in these paranoid fantasies of someone trying to "erase" them? I mean, there are lots of us who would love to be able to erase the hate and bigotry they spread wherever they go, but that's a separate thing, (although they obviously don't see it that way).
I just don't understand this kind of twisted thinking or why some people get so swept up in it. And maybe I don't necessarily need to understand it, but I can't help feeling that understanding it might make it easier to combat, while at the same time realizing that's probably an illusion. *sigh*
Sorry for all the rambling and thinking out loud. I'm one of those people who relies on intellectualizing about things as a big part of my approach to figuring out what to do about them, and when that doesn't work, I am...at a loss.

The "Jews will not replace us" is not about actual Jews replacing people with ourselves but rather, with non-Whites, non-Christians (somehow, we aren't included, go figure), and now, I am guessing, replacing str8 people with GLB folks.

(18,675 posts)If you go to the article in the op, there's a at least one photo showing a guy with a sign that says something about the Jews and the Talmud. I couldnt make out all of it, and I couldn't make any sense out of the part I was able to decipher, but it seemed to be trying to tie all of that together with the event they were protesting. (I doubt they even know what the Talmud is, except that it's Jewish, but of course, that's neither here nor there. )
But, yeah, the Jews are their ultimate scapegoat for anything they need one for. Just like they were for Hitler and his henchmen. I just finished reading a book about the Holocaust and have been watching the Ken Birns series about the US and the Holocaust, so that stuff is VERY fresh in my mind right noe.😬

What book did you read on the Holocaust? I have read several in the past year. The most recent one was actually about the aftermath, when survivors of the concentration camps were put into...concentration camps, while the world decided what to do with them, especially the "Jewish problem". Yes, it was STILL called that even after the Holocaust!
Check out, "The Last Million: Europe's Displaced Persons from World War to Cold War" by David Nasaw. BTW, it will make you angry!
