A thought crossed my mind

I think it is hopeful, but I'm not gay. If I am offensive, it is because I'm offering an observtion that I'd like to be lifting. If not, I'll delete.

With Halloween here, I noticed that there is a wide acceptance of witches. People who were thought to be witches were killed, but now, finally, there is wide acceptance of witches. Maybe we can look forward to the same acceptance of LGBT, but all year around.

Peace

And the key is ... there's a presumption they're not 'real' witches on that day.

Probably still just as many out there who are as terrified of real-life witches as they are terrified of LGBTQ+ people, every day of the year.

I thought of other supernatural beings, like vampires. Most people seem to accept the reality of witches (such as depicted in Wizard of Oz and Bewitched) and the endless memes of women and broomsticks--not ideal, but still, portraying the idea of witches in a lighter approach.

Maybe the mental growth that brought humans from the point that witches are real and evil, to witches are real but not that scary, will continue the same evolution that LGBT are human and benign.
