I've been to that club, once, on a visit to my brother in Pueblo. I had a weird experience with that: some little group was hanging out at the driveway to that club, jumped out and snapped a pic of the back of my car.
When I mentioned this to someone in the club, he replied "Oh that's just Focus on Other People's Family zombies. You're officially on their petition to some cruel diety to send you to hell now." "OIC."
There's not a shadow of doubt this was a RW, and possibly "religion motivated" hate crime and many who call themselves "Xtian" also have blood spatter all over them.

(30,168 posts)I worked there for like a year a while back... I commuted from Denver every day (except snow days).
Most of the population of Colorado lives in the front range city belt... from Pueblo to north of Boulder, C-Springs is the only place along I-25 where I would never consider living. Waaaay too many crazy people live there. Beautiful location... but that's about it.

(18,675 posts)Chicago is a wonderful city, imo. If it was up to me, I'd probably be living there now, but there sre factors that dictate otherwise, so I'm here in the suburbs, benefiting from the impact of Chicago's blueness on statewide elections.
What's really ironic is that here in Illinois, we just lived through months of the (failed) RW candidate for governor calling Chicago a hellhole and running ads claiming that a new law to eliminate cash bail is somehow going to bring "Chicago's violence" to "your town"!!!!!
Funny how some people see a hellhole where others see a great city.

(71,817 posts)that rly is the bottom line for too much of the public.
it's like i say about kids all the time, but applies to a lot of things- it's easy to measure deficits. it's wicked hard to measure strengths.

(2,343 posts)My children are having PTSD. They go clubbing and to Drag Shows. In fact my daughter was in charge of the LGBTQ club in university. Im so worried for their psyche and of course their physical well being. Even though I live in aRed state, Ohio, my area is Cleveland. A blue haven in the middle of northern Alabama.
Stay safe and always remember you have an ally in Cleveland

(54,857 posts)I am always worried something will happen to him. Frankly, I have braced myself for it. I try not to let things like this get to me, but after the past few years, I don't feel safe. recently, in our town, the organizers of the Pride Festival, a lesbian couple with a 5yo son, were threatened, even their FIVE-YEAR-OLD son was threatened!! Aren't these the assholes always screeching, "won't SOMEBODY think of the children?!" How does one claim to be a "good Christian" and in the same breath threaten the life of a 5yo child?!
