To all my trans brothers and sisters. I stand with you. I support you.

I know my post last night would get taken down and I have Zero fucking regrets.
Know that you are loved and valued and thought of as more than just " a voting issue"
I've been a PFLAG member since my son was in high school. Won't say my age, but he's long past high school. LOL.

I will leave you with a beautiful song by Chris Daughtry that I have sent my son in times when he had a really low day.

And by the way, PFLAG is a great organization that could use all the help and donation they can get right now.

voted for Trump and supports everything his administration is doing, thinks he is by far the best President the country has ever had, etc. She is also evangelical Christian and has been for probably 40 years — despite being banished from the church she attended for years before actually becoming herself in her mid 60s five years ago or so. I and my 7 other siblings supported her fully in doing so.

She is not the first trans that I have personally known, but the first that I had been so intimately familiar with for so many years. So while I understood and had compassion around the cruel social realities of being trans and have therefore been empathetic and accepting, it wasn’t until learning from my sister that I could really understand — and even with that intimate knowledge and relationship, I’m sure I never can fully.

But there is another thing that I absolutely will never understand … to any degree or at any level. How in the fuck can my trans sister be such a total Trump supporter? I am absolutely flabbergasted by this. How does this happen?

From the ACLU:

Transgender people have been around throughout all of human history! Hundreds of Cultures Honor, Celebrate Transgender People. Transgender people have existed for as long as humans have been around. In fact, throughout the majority of human history we have recognized (and even celebrated) more than two genders.

Historically speaking, we’ve spent more of our time acknowledging the various expressions of the human condition through multiple gender identities than we’ve spent acknowledging only two options.
This makes a lot of sense. We know from lived experience that there are more than two ways to express your gender identity. In fact, science has proven there are at least 6 distinct biological sexes and limitless gender expressions.

I love and cherish all Trans People, you have always made the world and humanity much better!

I have been fortunate enough to have several trans friends in my life. You have my full support- and Dems who run away from defending trans folks can go f*** themselves. Those Dems will NOT have my support.
