Interestingly my wife's work place have said that yes, you can go on strike but if you do it will classed as one of your allowed "days off" for the year.
I can't see much getting done tomorrow. lol
To their credit they are a public institution and do pay equal but such a decision is very typical for the Spanish work place, Even I notice that as a Man people automatically talk to me like my wife doesn't exist when she is the one asking the question. Just wanted to share.

(52,269 posts)How insulting for women to be ignored in person. Unbelievable. I guess the best countey for Women's Rights is Iceland, and maybe the Nordic countries. More proof that women are second class citizens around the world. RESIST!

(791 posts)Although Spain is a very tolerant society as such and no doubt they would be shocked at the accusation that they are being sexist, it is just the way it seems to be done in southern Europe. Spain is not alone in this type of behaviour either. I'm sure they are completely oblivious to it really.
