Did Backlash Prompt Komen’s Cancellations?

The breast cancer charity scrapped fundraisers in seven cities, prompting questions about whether the group has run its course. Winston Ross talks to the followers-turned-critics.

Lisa Boncheck Adams hopped off the Komen “bandwagon” years ago, long before the charity that puts on “Race For The Cure” events all over the world threatened to yank its funding for Planned Parenthood. Adams was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006, and in the two years that followed she estimates she raised more than $20,000 in fundraising and events sponsored by the Dallas-based Susan G. Komen Foundation.

For me, it was suing other anti-cancer organizations because Komen thought they owned the word "cure" and the color pink. The woman who runs it is a bit of a nut job as well, and she's still at the helm of that organization.

Let's face it, walking doesn't cure cancer, wearing particular colors doesn't either, only research has a shot of curing disease. All the money that these organizations take in that goes to anything other than research is just wasted.

Komen had been somewhat arrogant for a while and that was one of the reasons why the idiots at Komen felt that they could get by with the defunding of Planned Parenthood. The Planned Parenthood mess cause people to look at issues such as the salaries being paid and how much was actually going to fight cancer and that was the end of this "charity"
