The thread about what Andrea Dworkin actually said got me curious. I haven't looked at feminist theory since grad school. Would anyone like to suggest some books by feminist thinkers? Thanks!

(36,332 posts)Developing reading lists might be useful in lots of DU groups. One of my best friends is a former Women's Studies prof, so I've been meaning to ask her for some reading suggestions for some time, and the Dworkin thread rekindled my interest. While I have a general personal preference for academic treatments, my background is weak, so a general introduction or two might be good along with more seminal work. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Might recommended reading be a good topic to stick at the top of group forums generally?

(4,309 posts)I read that one for the first time after my 2003 divorce and it really made an impact. Feminism Is For Everybody by bell hooks is another good one.
