I did not understand why our Lesbian Co Chair was not a feminist.

She would argue that she is but reproductive issues are not important to her and she does not see them as an issue in trying to gain ground here in Texas and elsewhere. I think this is because she has NEVER been susceptible to an unwanted pregnancy. This will change your life and your way of thinking.

Pregnancy isn’t the end all. What about the most important issue of all. The right to choose what we do as human beings? Way back in the sixties when the Feminist movement was strong it was about our rights as human beings. Rights to pursue our careers, rights to do as we wished with our lives. pregnancy was only an issue for women only as far as each woman chose.

When the questions were read that we were going to ask each of them, there were none about reproductive rights and when I asked, she said there were more important issues we needed to address. I was pushed her on this but she was the leader and got her way. It just occurred to me why she thought this was not important. And btw, having children affects every aspect of a woman's life.

Yes, I know how it affects your life, but evidently the woman you’re describing just ignores that as being someone else’s problem. Maybe she’s a narcissist too.

Seriously.

with anything different. I have constantly told others that she is not a Feminist. "But...she is a Lesbian so she must be." is their response. I personally think if she does not think reproductive rights are of great importance, then she is definitely not a Feminist.

Women in search of personal power are probably just as attracted to the hierarchical structure of today’s workplaces, as men with ego problems are.

Just because one is a lesbian doesn't make one a feminist or a liberal. I know a lesbian republican. Go figure.
