Lately I'm finding pants that have these little, tiny, almost useless pockets. Can't wear men's pants, though... grr.

goes in my pocket of pants and per the other poster, i dont care how it "drapes" my figure, lol. left person behind over a decade ago. only pull it out when going out of town. still just to carry stuff but when out and about it stays in the car.

At least that was how I've heard it explained.

I wish that tops would button in a unisex manner. These days most of us don't have servants dressing us after all.

Office clothes other than power suits generally had either no pockets or ones only big enough for some loose change. Even power suits lacked pockets in the skirts.and the pants had shallow slash pockets. Drove me up the wall that I HAD to carry a bag for my stuff while the men just threw their wallets and keys in their suit pockets. I used a briefcase and kept a small bag for that stuff rather than carry a purse.

Even casual clothes often gave women the short shrift. Jeans had the best pockets and real sportswear (think L.L.Bean) tended to have enough functional pockets but most other items didn't have good pockets unless it was a fashion trend that year.

Dinosaurs roamed when I entered the workforce. I do remember gabardine, also lawn for the summer.
We had pockets but they were not as functional as the pockets in similar garments for men.

Gabardine IS French, LOL.

i need to pick up some 501's in mens....

but they never fit me right, always either too loose in the waist or too tight in the hips.

I get whatever fits best at the thrift store from whatever department it's in. I hate spending $ on clothes.

No way would I ever give money to the women's fashion industry. I don't even know what size I'd wear. I like knowing that I can buy pants that are 36/30s and never have to worry between different labels if that size is actually going to fit me because they don't play that game with men's clothing.

As far as shoes go, I would never, ever try and force my foot into a woman's shoe; To me, they're like torture devices. Plus, I use public transport to get to and from work, so I do a lot of walking and the last thing I want is a sore foot or feet.

For anyone looking for kickass socks, try Wigwam socks. They're made in the USA, last for years and they're truly unisex which means women can find sizes that fit them. They're a bit spendy but when you can get 5-6 years out of a pair of socks, it kinda makes up the difference.
