But the perfect HRT made that unnecessary. Yay. I've decided that if I have to choose, I choose quality over quantity, though I'll be happy to take both!

We had our first child almost 3 years ago. I was an birth control until I met my husband and we decided that it was the right time. I am on birth control now, since we decided to have one child only.

That is the great thing about choice. Nobody is going to tell me if and when to have children and how many. It is MY choice. We have one beautiful son, and that is actually more than I ever expected. My husband left it up to me about having children and how many.

I am seriously pissed off about the whole birth control issue. You have the right to believe in whatever you want to ... you DON'T have the right to force your religious believes on me.

It is 2012 and we are talking about contraception??? Really??? WTF???

Sat Feb 18, 2012, 03:39 AM

I lost count. Because I was a young woman with no children, I was obviously a moron who didn't know what I wanted. I was told that "you'll change my mind" or "What if you marry someone who wants children?" (Why would I marry someone who wants children when I don't want any?) None of this dimwits cared that I knew that I didn't want children - since I'm a woman, I'm born to be pregnant. They also didn't seem to know shit about medicine; pregnancy is contraindicated with the kidney disease I have - or maybe they thought I'd like to die trying to have a baby? Who the fuck knows.

Finally, I did find a doctor who would fix what ailed me and she didn't just tie 'em; she burnt them out. Little Fulgie just turned 10, and I have no regrets!

I had the tubes burnt out (tubal fulguration) and the endometrium burnt out with boiling saline (hydrothermal endometrial ablation).

Neoma is getting some criticism for asking some men to be co-hosts, so I want to mention that she asked me to co-host as well (I'm a woman) and I declined.

I appreciate your agreeing to volunteer as a co-host, just as I appreciate and support the other co-hosts, and I strongly appreciate and support Neoma.

Mine moved out 5 years ago. I'm dealing with empty nest syndrome.

I'm not a regular of this group, but I know you'll be a good co-host as evidenced by your other host duties.

I consider myself a feminist, I've raised a strong independent young woman, that has a masters degree, owns her own home and did it on her own. I've also raised a wonderful young man, that respects women as his equal, he's still in college.

We're gonna have this fight again (women's rights) and I'm glad I have two 'soldiers' that want to be part of it.

Good luck to you, I look forward to lurking even more than before.

I almost lost mine when I had cervical cancer, but just lost my cervix instead. It's funny (odd, not ha ha ... well, maybe both - I don't want to use mine and have gone to great lengths to stop it from doing a lot things it's supposed to do, but I like having it there

On the other hand, I know women who've had either medically indicated or totally elective hysterectomies that are delighted with the vacancy - I hope you're one of them!

Great to have you here! You were an awesome Host, and you're still an awesome DUer!

I think you're pretty cool too.

patriarchy likes to remove uteri after women reach menopause, maybe one should say 'vagina' or better yet 'clitoris'.....an often ignored female body part which is routinely cut off in the Middle East and Africa.

Thank you for being a host(ess).

I have no idea what the big to-do has been since I don't visit often. Given that women live under the rules of Patriarchy, you'd think we would get along and have common goals.

Divide & Conquer by utilizing their paid pundits on Faux and elsewhere. They create a culture of distrust, fear, and hatred. And we silly humans seem to fall for it every time.

My biggest fear are the CEOs of all the multi-nationals. Why isn't our frustration and anger lasered in on them???? They cause all the problems....and have us fighting over crumbs.
