The restraining order temporarily blocks a new law requiring doctors at the Jackson clinic to have admitting privileges at a local hospital in order to continue performing abortions. CNN reports:
The judge's order blocks enforcement of the law at least until the next hearing on the matter, which is scheduled for July 11.
"I'm jubilant," said Diane Derzis, clinic owner and president. "It means the constitutional rights of women to make their decision, for the time being, is in place."

What is to stop the making of Hospital boats, abortion clinics that are off the water?

Still Miss is a big state and many women will find it difficult to get to the coast.

(64,318 posts)Right now many people in our country don't seem to care about helping one another. People will spend thousands at the casino then go to the polls and vote down a penny tax to help pay for education or health care.

(39,961 posts)just leave me shaking my head. I think all of the brains in the state flow downward with the river and out into the Gulf of Mexico, and are being polluted by the BP spill. I live on the Coast, so at least mine is a bit closer by.
Thank heavens someone in Jackson wised up enough to put a stop to this.
