Margaret Atwood and George R R Martin interviews

http://www.cbc.ca/player/Shows/ID/2244820908/?sort=MostPopular

Really great stuff. I adore Atwood and now that I have seen Martin (first time ever) I love him too - I love how he sees the good/vs. evil thing - it is within each of us as individuals, not so much evil empire vs. good empire.

anyway, Hope you enjoy. the Interviewer is one of my favourites.

I've been talking about Ms. Atwood's novel constantly ever since the wingnuts started trying to turn America into The Republic of Gilead. When she wrote this book in the 80s and when I first read it, it seemed fantastical. Impossible. But looking at the suffocating, restrictive laws passing all over America, witnessing this war on women...I can no longer say that The Handmaid's Tale is improbable beyond possibility.

It is in hardcover now and will be soft in the spring.

The HBO series is going to be so far behind... darn.

After the 1st season on HBO i immediately went out and read all the other ones, then waited until ADWD came out and read it too.

My wife, who hasnt and hates spoilers, is like "dont tell me who dies!!!"

and I am asking him stuff and woah, lots of big surprises just like in the first of the series. It helps him keep all the facts/storyline fresher in his head retelling it to me (the bigger events) and I don't think of it as a spoiler so it works fine.
