point. That's important for me since my Dad died due to complications from Type 1 Diabetes and Alzheimers. So far so good.

I've been following the Glycemic Index and then a low-carb diet for many years and it's working.
The diet I follow allows unlimited meat, fish and poultry, plus cheese and natural oils. The diet recommends using butter, not margarine (I use a "light butter&quot plus all the veggies/beans/legumes and cheese you can stand. Be careful with fruit/fruit juice since they're a potent source of sugars. Avocados are good...

For breads I use the following: corn tortillas, pita bread, sourdough or potato bread and any dark bread like rye or pumpernickel. Learn to look at food labels to judge what foods are best then go for it!

40 calories and 7g fiber per slice.

It comes in wheat and white. I find the wheat too sweet and prefer the white and find it very tasty.

For crackers, the WASA sourdough whole grain crispbread, 3g carbs, 30 calories per slice.

I'm not concerned about calories at the moment; will see what Doc says, in a few weeks. Fiber YES!

There's also an Italian bread. Also a little sweet but very good. Been eating lots of it as it’s BLT season here til the garden quits.

use large ceramic mug

mix 1/2 cup almond flour, 1/2 tsp baking powder, egg, 2 tbsp. oil (butter, olive, coconut, etc.) dash of salt

microwave for 90 sec turn out "bread" and let cool, slice

don't overcook and play with ingredients to make it just the way you like... it is surprisingly good and so quick and very good toasted... it is a bit dry so good with avacado


(my partner has eliminated all medication by eating strict keto!!) lots of eggs and salads

I bought from ThinSlim, but find them tasteless (AND the texture NOT great.) I agree, expensive.

if it is not perfect 1st try, adjust a bit... even my daughter who has no health restrictions, makes it for breakfast

you can make toast, small pizzas, sandwiches, etc... with it... I have been wanting to try adding sautéed onions and such to it

Visiting for my granddaughter's 4th birthday party, and told daughter about my likely diabetes AND this recipe, so feeling sorry for me and as an occupational therapist, she made this twice today, once morning with coffee AND then with dinner. It's GREAT!

You've provided me a solution to 'nothing with coffee,' and also a potato and bread substitute other times of the day!

Sara Lee makes a 45-cal/slice whole wheat and multigrain bread that's available in Safeway and Winco grocery stores, if not more. For crackers, I like the Simple Mills almond crackers at Costco, which are lower in carbs than regular crackers.





On the other hand, looking at the ThinSlim website, I'm wondering how I never saw this product line before! Now have to investigate further....

I’ve been eating vegan ish for years and still had about 10-15 lbs over normal. I’m trying a Keto diet and have lost 6 lbs in two weeks.. Slow and steady wins the race I guess..
No beer is killing me but the weight loss is more important for me.. what ‘s strange is I’m feeling
“Greasy” all over if that makes any sense...

Also not concerned about calories, don't think weight is a problem, but do think I'm diabetic. Seeing my doc in a few weeks; blood was drawn Friday.
