Internal CDC documents warn full reopening of schools is 'highest risk' for coronavirus spread

"Internal documents from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warned that fully reopening K-12 schools and universities would be the "highest risk" for the spread of coronavirus, according to a New York Times report, as President Donald Trump and his administration push for students and teachers to return in-person to classrooms."

"The 69-page document obtained by the Times marked "For Internal Use Only" was among materials for federal public health response teams deployed to coronavirus hotspots to help local public health officials handle the outbreak, the newspaper reported."

It is unclear whether the President viewed the CDC document, according to the Times.
**CNN has reached out to the CDC and the White House and has not yet received a response."

In CA San Diego (state's 2nd largest district)...
"The new school year is scheduled to start in less than two months, yet San Diego Unified School District teachers don’t feel ready to reopen campuses with COVID-19 cases surging. While the state’s second largest school district says it has a detailed plan for its scheduled reopening on August 31st, the teachers union claims the plan in its current form lacks some basic protections against the coronavirus."

"There were no plans for the six-feet distancing, so that was very concerning since throughout the whole COVID crisis, that has been one of the primary advisories from public health officials,” said Kisha Borden, president of San Diego Education Association. Borden said the teachers union issued a counterproposal for reopening that included smaller class sizes, more ventilation and robust testing."

“They’re trying to meet those needs, but I think they realize that reducing class size in order to provide for social distancing is going to require hiring a lot more adults in the schools,” Borden said. “At this point I don’t think they have the resources to do that.”

He thrives on chaos and inflicting as much pain as possible. He's a psychopath/sociopath of the first order. He lives to count the dead.

She's a Democrat, a former teacher, who should know better, and who can hardly wait to get her grandson back in school. She thinks he's doing poorly at home. Better to be home, than dead at school.

My classroom had NO WINDOWS! Most of the classrooms didn't (1970s modular design). My first year in one had me and my 1st graders so sick by Oct that we were showing each other how to use inhalers and I had to sleep sitting up due to the black mold from years of stagnant water in the ceiling. The tiles were buckled there was so much. The district only cares about $$$....if they tell you otherwise they are full of BS. They gave me a can of Lysol and a fan and told me to keep the only door CLOSED and there "were more contaminants outside than inside". By Dec I went to the union since I already had used up three years worth of sick days and 17 more! The union had real health inspectors come out and that week the classroom (and 7 others) were ordered to be torn down, they were too awful to save. When I went in to get supplies, since I had to teach in the cafeteria, the two workmen in my room told me I could only go in for three minutes. One of them told me he would never let his own kid in that room for one day. While I was in there I saw the ceiling with the tiles removed. The guys poked a hole into the plastic liner into the water that collected. It was the color of coffee and filled up the trashcan in 30 seconds and they had to get the 4' tall trashcan to catch the rest (from that one area). I have permanent respiratory damage and was sick 90% of the rest of my teaching career, which ended 13 years later after my doctors made me leave teaching due to the my ongoing bad health. No pension or health insur either since I wasn't there long enough. That is my story. Share it. That is the same district that is in the 2nd half of my post. As the current union rep said, the districts do NOT have the funds to hire more teachers, build barriers, protect staff and students, clean properly etc. I know this is true...I have been there. Teachers are already turning in their notices to retire early and get a pension if they are forced back.

After knowing this from the CDC , he's just showing his true colors again that he cares nothing about your health and safety , and your children's health and safety. The same guy who' caged immigrant children, and taken their health care away from them and their families, and done everything he can to hurt children, and he wants you to believe all his propaganda this has to be done , or he will try to hurt us more. His failure to handle the virus , instead calling it a hoax, and continues to refuse to help, but claims the opposite. This is all about helping him with his re-election campaign , not about your children getting sick or becoming spreaders of this deadly virus. The American people see it too , and now are running away from him and the Republican party .

Should not even consider opening without updating ventilation systems to allow for a lot of fresh air AND installing powerfup uvc lights.

But these would both cost a bundle, so it won't happen.

This is going to be too much for even Bezos/$$$ to fix. Think of all the schools...each school will need an enormous amount amount of resources just for ventilation, building new classrooms outside, building partitions, cleaning, cleaning supplies, staff, support staff, etc. Also, if one person comes down with it they will have to quarantine the whole school for two weeks. Then when they come back it will happen all over again since the Fed govt isn't doing what it needs to do now as a whole country.

In Taiwan they sent kids back successfully because the rest of the country was all on the same page. They had it contained and then kids went back...
