the opposing issue is I love to cook (and eat of course) - so carrying about 20 lbs more than I'd like.

1) Walk 2 miles to next town.
2) Stop at bakery and buy 1/2 pound of rugelach.
3) Walk 2 miles back home.

My parents were/are in a nursing home and my Mom got it in August 2020. They were in the same room together and they kept testing my Dad and test came back negative several times. Finally after about five days he tested positive. They were put in isolation for about a week or little longer. They survived it. Unfortunately a year later (in August) my Dad passed away from a stroke.

Its a serious drug & can cause other problems. So if you're not at high risk I doubt you'll get it. My brother is a medical instructor at UF & when HE caught it all the MDs that work with him told him to not take it.
But thats just my .02 of course you & your DR make that decision.

I sure cough a lot.

I felt better in hours after I started taking it.
My husband got it in July so I knew I was doomed. Didn’t present as “typical” cold symptoms. Started as just feeling rundown with a wicked sore throat that kept getting worse. This was before the new omicron booster came out, got that and flu shot as soon as I could.

We avoided it for three years here and then the week before Christmas my husband came down with it. Then a couple days later, me and my two sons. We fell like Dominoes, Lol

I wore a mask at first and stayed out of whatever room he was in, but when you’re all living in the same house ….

Felt “off” and out of it for like 3 days, achy, a mild sore throat. I did not get the fever everyone else had. then felt better, but like I had a head cold. Lost my taste and smell for 3 days. My doc said if I wanted Paxlovid I could have it, but my symptoms were pretty mild,so I said I’ll just stick it out. Was much better after 4 days. All I ever needed was some Benadryl.

Ours was like a cold but Nyquil did nothing. Tested clean after 5-6 days and I'm 71.
Get your rest, drink your liquids, read some good books.

We go nowhere at all; everything is delivered. Haven't been even to a grocery store in three years.

I got it too this Fall.
Went to Florida for a week.
Thought we were careful.
But grandson and I got it.
He was sick with a fever and headache.
I only tested because he was positive.

Barely had any symptoms. But had gotten 5th booster a month before.
Was kind of relieved to have to isolate after 4 days at Disney.

But. It took 2 weeks before I had a negative test.
Followed CDC guidelines.

But, we still mask in stores.

I guess its going to become like the flu; always out there.

I had it two years ago -- right now, in fact. Mostly I felt like I had a mild flu, more than a cold because of the fever and body aches. I never had breathing issues, but also never lost the sense of taste or smell. It just seemed to last forever, more than a week.

I had vertigo in the beginning as well. Keep a watch on your blood pressure. My pulse was fast as well. When I called the cardiologist he said it sounded like I was fighting a virus. I had tested at home for four days but when I did the PCR it was positive. I have no idea how long I had covid before this. Take care and talk to your doc about blood pressure friendly OC drugs just to be safe. Your body is strong and protected, you got this! My best to you and yours. 💗💗🙏

I have avoided covid to date but I assume that won't last. I'm sure the two of you will take good care of yourselves and one another.

I expected it to be negative, and it was... but I had to be sure
since the four-day bridge tournament starts tomorrow.

Took the pcr on day five and it was positive. Doc said I would be surprised how many home tests show false negative. Take good care! I hope you re on the mend soon. 💗🙏

There's something in the air here... early springlike weather.

Like a bad head cold for me: congestion, coughing, sneezing, sinus pain and drainage. Muscle pain. Low fever. All in all, I feel crappy. Doc said no Paxlovid for me due to other health issues and meds (if you take Flecanide, that’s a no). I will get over it, though.

DH was initially sicker, higher fever, but he got Paxlovid. He didn’t like some of the side effects, like an unpleasant taste in his mouth when eating and some gut issues, but seems to be making a faster recovery.

The docs say that having had all the vaccinations and boosters really helped us.

My nephew announced that he had tested positive for Covid after we'd all spent 5 days together at Thanksgiving. He said, "But don't worry, I have no symptoms. I hardly know I even have it."

We said, "Yeah, you're 22 but we're all in our 50's and 60's. We've got a lot more to worry about than you do." I can't tell you how annoyed I was with my nephew for being so thoughtless.

So I came home with the dizziness, and felt like maybe I was getting a slight cold. I took some aspirin and some vitamin C, and waited for the worst to happen. But nothing did really happen. No temperature, no sore throat, only slightly hoarse - for the first 3 days. Then by Wednesday I discovered that I had no sense of taste or smell. That's when I knew I had the Covid, but it was a very mild case. I didn't even get a positive reading on my home testing kit. (It had to be a false negative.) But I didn't want to take any chances, I stayed home and quarantined for two weeks, including the time since I returned from the Thanksgiving visit with my family.

There was never any sickness, no fever, no cold or sore throat. It was just hoarseness for about 6 or 7 days, and loss of taste and smell for 4 days. That's it. I could have easily been walking around, obliviously infecting other people. Except I didn't do that - I stayed home and waited it out.

I'm certain that my vaccinations in 2021 prevented me from getting sicker. So thank you, Dr. Fauci and Joe Biden! Because of those vaccinations I'm here to tell the story.
