Related: About this forumMy Silver Scripts prescription has gone up 1,080% since last December!
I keep hearing that the cost of prescription drugs is going down, but the price of our Silver Scripts are skyrocketing. For example, one of my daily scripts is for 25mg atenolol. It is a tier one generic which has always been relatively inexpensive. Then, last January, the price soared by 780%. Today, I picked another 90 day supply, and the price went up another five dollars. That's a 1,080% increase in under a year! All of our scripts have gone up by similar amounts.
Do any of you DU'ers have part D plans, other than Silver Scripts, which have skyrocketed like ours? We'll be getting a measly 3.2% SS increase which will be gone before we get it. Yes, the price of insulin came down, but everything else went up. Nobody is helping us on Medicare.

If I used the mail order pharmacy, both prescriptions would be free.

(732 posts)to get me lower prices. I have Silverscript also. One drug is usually $300.00 for a 90 day refill but I usually get it for $100. with whatever coupon gives me the best discount. They used to use Good rX but they found another coupon. that was better.

(34,927 posts)So far Ive been OK getting my prescriptions at the Giant supermarket pharmacy with coupon. The most I pay for any of them is $40 for 90 days. I hope the price doesnt go up. The people at the pharmacy are particularly helpful in finding good prices

(1,276 posts)... USED to be illegal, just as advertising pharmaceuticals directly to consumers used to be illegal. And those who suffer most from it besides good folk like Number9Dream are the same idiots that vote Republican because they love to hate; they just hate the wrong people, because they're fucking idiots.
There are those who COULD smack down Big Pharma, but they're just too chickenshit to do it. Getting reelected is more important than doing what's right.

Have you changed your deductible? That could make a big difference.
