I'm limiting my time a bit on the internet, so that's why I didn't answer earlier. Here are 3 of what I think are the main causes. There's more, though, and I'll post on this thread again:

1. I listen to music for an hour a day. It's an equivalent to what some people call "meditation," but which I call "focus." Just train the mind to focus on one thing, in this case only the music. I seem to have gravitated to Icelandic composers, but it's whatever you like to listen to.

One hundred per cent focus on the music--not background to something else like folding laundry.

2. Two hours of infused scent, as discussed in an article I recently posted. Using lavender, eucalyptus, mint. It is not intrusive and doesn't seem to affect my cat at all. I let the infuser run while listening to music, as the article stated the study participants did it while sleeping.

3. Intermittent fasting diet, which my doc recommended for better sleep. So no food after 6 or 7 p.m. until the next day around 11. I loosely follow Dr. Gregor's Daily Dozen app, which is based on his book How Not to Die. I still eat chicken/meat/fish on occasion, however.

I didn't get better sleep, though, so can't throw "sleep" into the mix.

My theory on item 3 is that I've read where inflammation also affects the brain. If that's the case, a program like Dr. Gregor's might have had some effect, and especially when you consider autophagy, which has been called "the body’s way of turning the clock back and creating younger cells."
