This was crazy, he said to himself, Nobody gets put on the ventilator and has a seizure from eating psychedelic mushrooms.
Alarmed, he began contacting poison centers around the country, and soon discovered similar cases were popping up: Patients with nausea, vomiting, agitation, seizures, loss of consciousness and other symptoms.
There are now 130 documented illnesses including two suspected deaths all tied to the same brand of mushroom edibles, called Diamond Shruumz, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
Its one of the many varieties of psychedelic-inspired treats that have proliferated online, in smoke shops and convenience stores, often advertising some kind of proprietary mushroom blend, with words like nootropic, magic or microdosing emblazoned on the packaging.

Sounds like he thinks he talking about oatmeal, or mashed potatoes. Personally, I would expect powerful reactions to such a fungal derivative.

(116,571 posts)but when I ate shrooms I would usually feel queasy and sometimes would occasionally vomit about 45 minutes later. After that occurred I would have a good trip. Therefore, I somewhat understand why someone would become ill using edibles; it is tragic that there are deaths from the use of the product.

(38,167 posts)I haven't had an issue with gummies but I don't experiment with different brands anymore. I stick with one I know I've had a good experience with.
Man, I had some fun times on magic mushrooms when I was in my 20s.
