This is a series of interviews with inmates on Death Row. Its not sensational. Its more of an exploration of what its like to know the day that you're going to die ahead of time.
Werner Herzog is against the death penalty. He doesn't try to push an agenda, yet he is able to show a human side in the worst of people. Some may be wrongfully incarcerated.
Not an easy watch, but its worth it. I have great respect for Herzog.

(34,391 posts)I am always kind of interested in these kinds of docs. I abhor the death penalty. The day that McVeigh was killed I went outside and my neighbor was going out too and we were both in tears knowing that this was so horrific. I do understand the people who are pro death penalty, I just do not have the stomach or desire to see it continue but I do understand.
It would be odd knowing the day of your death but then many people are really afraid to die. I can't imagine how that would feel.
Werner Herzog is an interesting guy. Thanks for this. Now if we could just get our Internet back. A week today, crappy service.

(18,164 posts)The inmates say that they're going to be murdered. Its not a deterrent. Its not justice. And there's a lot of inconsistency in the way its applied across the country.
I hope you get your internet back soon!
