"The Lost King" (2022) on Hulu
Stephen Frears (The Queen) directed this true story about a British woman (Sally Hawkins of The Shape of Water) who feels unappreciated in her life and after seeing a performance of Shakespeare's Richard III embarks on a crusade against centuries of well-established "Tudor propaganda" to find the missing remains of the underappreciated monarch and restore him to his proper place in history. Along the way, she enlists the aid of an archeologist (Mark Addy, The Full Monty), her doubting estranged husband (Steve Coogan, Philomena), a Richard III fan club, and the spirit of the dead king himself (Harry Lloyd, Brave New World).
I really enjoyed this movie. It's like Bank of Dave, a quiet, well-paced story, full of truth and amusement, about ordinary people accomplishing the extraordinary against well-entrenched interests.

(6,346 posts)that Philippa Langley wrote after she and her cohort found Richard III in the parking lot.
She has found documents from across Europe that show that the princes were alive years after Richard died at the Battle of Bosworth Field. The younger prince, Richard, Duke of York, wrote a statement about his life after he was spirited away from the Tower of London, and years later, ended up at the home of his aunt, the Duchess of Burgundy. There are other papers showing the aunt raising funds and arms to send an army to England.
Her project, the Missing Princes Project, is still soliciting folks with research and language skills to search archives for more evidence.
I believe Richard is innocent.
FYI - I loved The Lost King. It's a movie for adults!
