"Arcane" season 2 drops Saturday Nov. 9, Midnight PT on Netflix

I'm there day 1. Season 1 was easily the best steampunk fantasy class struggle streaming series I've ever seen, and I put it in the top tier of all things I've ever seen. Sure it's animated, and that turns some people off, but there isn't a frame of that entire show that I couldn't imagine hanging in a gallery. Plus they can just ... do things ... with the "camera eye" that would be tricky and expensive in live action, like POV from inside a tall glass as champagne pours in. If you haven't seen it yet, I kind of envy you because you could choose to experience it for the first time.

He's right, you can't spoil a show this good, plus there's about to be twice as much of it. This could be exactly the palette-cleanser many of us need to help save the entire month of November, at least up to the mandatory dinner with the difficult relatives.

1. Somehow I can't let go of this song: Eason Chan -- "Isha's Song" video

Yesterday

The video contains mild spoilers that don't really matter. On the other hand, there's an amazing current of beauty, mortality, triumph, joyful freedom in the face of adversity that flows like a rushing river through the piece.

Eason Chan sounds like a Chinese Paul Simon. A simple melody, a few slow-played well-chosen chords leading to a hauntingly beautiful dynamic piece that embraces the listener.

Arcane found a way to exceed every previous video game adaptation by ... a lot, and all the embedded musical segments are bangers.
