story. Highly recommend watching this one and seeing a different role for Eddie Murphy to showcase a different side of his many talents as a terrific actor.

Great movie and a great vehicle for Eddie Murphy in a serious, non-comedic role.

I liked it a lot. However, some of it was a little too close to home for me. It was painful to see Charlie after her mother died. The prom scene, the breast cancer, the being completely lost after her death, etc. My own mother died of breast cancer on the day of my senior prom. It was surreal and I couldn't wrap my mind around graduating from high school in a week and then being lost and without direction with no safety net or guidance. I found myself sobbing when that happened in the movie.

Eddie Murphy did a terrific job. Plus, I love jazz, so the music was an added bonus.

Thanks again for the reference.
