If you haven't seen A French Village

On Hulu, do. As entirely absorbing as Spiral, but a drama, set during the occupation. Everything top rate, acting, script, production. I hesitated because I didn’t want to get abjectly horrified and depressed, but the emotional pull is worth it and got me to research a bit on the French Resistance. It’s like a novel you just start living through.

in so many other productions. Seems like the Brits, the French have a kind of rep company. Well, so with American Telly, but not always same distinguished caliber. See a lot of Thierry Goddard (Gilou in Spiral), the factory owner in French Village.

MHZ Choice is all foreign, sub-titled series & movies. It has excellent content. $7.99 per month.

Think I might resubscribe to it. Get rid of Masterpiece as I have seen what I want on it,

MHz is absolutely the best. I can’t begin to say how much I love it. They have great programming from all over Europe.

I just finished watching Captain Marleau. It takes place in the south of France. The main character is a quirky detective who is kind of a French female version of Columbo. Really enjoyable.

The character! Setting, and unfolding story. And nice the audio is French language. I can practice my weak listening skills. Thanks very for this excellent rec.
