(38,726 posts)Today, I drove to meet someone with an important 12 step book on overeating. He is new, and needs the first few chapters.
Yesterday, I went to meeting and met some people I hadn't seen for a long time. Giving some time to try to listen.
But I need to help others more. I just need to call, and call, and go to meetings..and not give up..sometimes very hard. I will report back tomorrow.

(38,726 posts)talked to a counselor, talked to some people in the program, and am planning to get out tomorrow. I need to take it one day at a time..and not worry about the rest. It all happens in time.
... Thank You for asking. I need to pray more. I will plan to go to a meeting tomorrow..
....Oh, I might add, I didn't drink and drug, and I didn't overeat..(those are my worst addictions)

(20,987 posts)First thing: You identified what's happening. I know that sounds "duh" but you'd be surprised how many of us get all the way past "stinkin' thinkin'" and into the slip before we even realize our brains are fuckin' with us again.
So, Yay, you! on that one.
Second thing: You shared. You reached out for help. We've all of us been there and we get it. You're part of a community that cares about you making it through that next minute, that next hour.
So, Yay, you! again.
Recovery: You're doin' it right.
More of the same.
aphoristically,
