Well, it's been one rough weekend.

Friday night wasn't too bad. I kept thinking about drinking but ended up hopping in bed and watched a comedy while having a bowl of ice cream. All yesterday afternoon, I kept anticipating a lousy night. It was a pleasant evening eating dinner in front of the fire, but I kept thinking about how nice it would be to have a few glasses of wine. I finally gave up and went to bed at 9:00. It wasn't so much feeling sorry for myself, just that if I was sleeping, I wouldn't have to think about drinking. In a lot of ways, I really look forward to Mondays.

I've been sober for about a year and a half. And it is getting better. But I have these occasional shitty weekends. And not being able to go out to a movie or hear live music, certainly doesn't help.

Thanks for listening!

Most of us are too old to drink competitively these days or had to give it up. I can't afford to drink anyway, so that helps.

I spent some time thinking how I could get my chemical of choice.

I am aware that using soothes/soothed my anxiety. Well, gee, I'm feeling pretty anxious these days.

Hugs my brother

One thing with booze - it wears off so fast you have to keep dosing to keep the buzz going. So your missing out on a few 1 hour feelgood sessions - u can do that! Here's what you're also missing:

Hangovers
Sleep disruptions
Stomach issues
Immune system supression
Emotional rollercoasters
Wobbly balance

Boozin's an Illusion! Hang in there Bif!
